MBBS FRCA FFPMRCA
Dr Neal Evans is a Consultant in Pain Management specialising in spinal conditions. After qualifying at the Royal London Hospital, he went on to do research at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge before doing pain graduate training at Oxford and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He was appointed Consultant at Bucks Hospitals NHS Trust in 2003 based at Amersham, Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals. He became a founding Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2007 and became the Regional Advisor for Pain Medicine for Oxford deanery. Since 2018 he has been Clinical Lead for Pain medicine for Bucks NHS Trust.
His specialist interests are spinal pain management and neuromodulation, and he runs multi-disciplinary combined clinics for spinal and facial pain. He is a tutor for the Royal College and has lectured and run instructional classes nationally and internationally.
Dr Evans’ ethos in treating patients with persistent pain concentrates on accurate diagnosis leading to a carefully constructed treatment pathway. Patients are often frustrated and present with a variety of symptoms that give considerable disability but have not been linked in a meaningful way. He aims to add cohesion to the often uncoordinated traditional pathway for people with pain issues.
